My top 5 Vegan Halloween Candy

*NOTE. The only candy vegan in this picture are Dum Dums and Skittles. Don’t look at me like that I needed a nice candy picture

Happy Halloween! It’s that time of year where no matter the age, we all indulge in a bit too much candy on the 31st of October. Just because you’re plant based, vegan, or are just curious about what treats and sweets count as vegan to make yourself feel like you’re doing a bit of good in the world; I’ve made a list of my top 5 vegan halloween candies. I know you can search for a vegan list of your own, but these are candies that I eat all year long. Besides if you search for vegan candy you’ll find smarties on the list. Who likes sugar flavored chalk? I mean seriously I understand that they’re vegan but it’s they aren’t good and the purpose of this site is to find the best meatless munchies around. The good part about my list is you’ve heard of most, can find them easily, some are inexpensive, and you’re not skimping out on flavor for your trick-or-treaters.

1. Twizzlers

Twizzlers are my absolute favorite movie candy. I will purposely go on an across the city candy-hunt just to find Twizzlers for the big screen. The good news is all Twizzlers are actually vegan. Which is a good thing any flavor at all and I’m a fan, however, I normally stick to the good old favorite strawberry.

2. Swedish Fish

If you’re not a fan of the twisty licorice but still want that sweet flavor? Swedish fish is where it’s at. Now I had the absolute hardest time choosing between Swedish Fish and Twizzlers as my top favorite candy because i also love this soft and chewy candy. You can easily eat an entire box in one sitting or just let them melt in your mouth.

3. Sour Patch Kids

First they’re sour then they’re sweet. We all know those hilarious Sour Patch Kids commercials. These sour little gummies are actually vegan. They’re on my list because it feels like a different flavor of candy with all the coated sour and sugar goodness. Fun fact is that the green border on the box are actually mini sour patch kids.

4. Dum Dums

I know I know what you’re going to say. Seriously, Dum Dums? They’re so….basic. Dum Dums aren’t basic if you were in elementary school and you won a candy prize Dum Dums were the candy of choice. One bag can last you quite some time and you’re always excited when you find one. Also did you know they have a Hawaiian Punch Dum Dum it’s so good. It’s a quick and sweet pick me up when you need some candy. Besides it’s my candy of choice when I treat my employees for candy.

5. Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups

I’m sure you knew I was going here when you clicked on this post. I had to include some form of chocolate on my list. While Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are my all time favorite chocolate they’re not vegan, so I had to choose something that was similar. If you’re not a fan of dark chocolate, honestly you’re not going to like these. I am however, a fan of dark chocolate and that’s why they’re on my list of top 5 vegan candies.

Halloween isn’t about being healthy it’s about yummy delicious treats. Remember just because something is vegan, it doesn’t make it healthy. The purpose of this blog is to find the best meatless munchies not things that are inherently healthy. What are your favorite halloween treats?
